New destinations: Mailbox & Lake - DAY 9

I used to take to Facebook on the regular to post about touching down in London or Delhi or Amsterdam.

That very much feels like a lifetime ago. It was pre-pandemic, and definitely pre- Bone Marrow Transplant quarantine and recovery.

While the destinations may have changed, and the distances grown much shorter- I think they are worth noting just the same!

Today I made it on two walks, to the mailbox at the end of the road and down to the path in my backyard to the lake. These normally short jaunts were quite the challenge, but it feels like real progress, with beautiful views as a reward

On the other end of progress is the arguments being heard in front of the Supreme Court today… On this 4th night of Hanukkah, RBG was looking down and screaming her DISSENT! May a miracle happen and this crazy court do the right thing.

Health Update:

• Some delicious tomato soup arrived from my dear friend Hayley, and happy to report all food stayed in my tummy so far today!

• Newly configured drugs seem to make a bit of difference in my overall feeling

• Thankful for no fevers, as we plow through these most dangerous day of recovery

• Hospital called to confirm yesterday’s covid test was negative. More thankful than ever I’ve avoided this monster- calculated this was like my 100th covid test since the start of the pandemic!

What’s Entertaining Us:

• Raj’s cooking (Dal on the menu tonight)

• Finished season 1 of the Sinner and started season 2.

• The new Wonder Years

What I’m grateful for:

• My incredible colleague Katie Esteves who is keeping DRIVE in motion while I have limited energy

• My Mom for drop off and pick up yesterday and being my all day companion

• Raj for spending his first weeks of engaged life with his fiancee in recoveryland aka Chateau Paradiso aka Friess Lake aka Wisconsin
